After making some Bacon Biltong last year here, and here, and having it spotted in Pretoria it has now been seen in the US it seems...not sure where or how to get it but BaconDiet posted about Bacon Jerky on their Twitter page. I would guess Bacon Jerky is the same as Bacon Biltong, although looking at the packaging their Jerky may be a little more smoked than the Bacon Biltong I made.
Check it out and if you can get some let us know what it's like.

Homemade Fuzzy's Grub Zaam
It has been a long time since I had a Pork Zaam at Fuzzy's Grub in London. Well, yesterday I cooked a fantastic Pork neck. Slow cooked with some great roast tatties, butternut and onion. The gravy was made then a couple of cooked apples were blended in...WOW! Fantastic gravy!
So today comes around. There are leftovers. I have bread. This can only lead to one thing....a remaking of the famous Fuzzy's Pork Sandwich! Happy days!

Gather up some bread, roast tatties, butternut, onion and roast Pork. The Pork neck was super tender! |
Roses are red
We've seen this before as part of an internet meme but now it's been submitted again as what looks like a photo outside a pub...nice one!

A third of young adults in the UK 'don't know bacon comes from a pig'
I read this headline and it made me sad. It made me sad for the future of mankind. How can people not know where Bacon comes from?
But then this article is in the Metro. I lived in the UK for many years and learned that if the Metro says...then it's most likely made up...but still...it makes me sad.

Burger King Bacon sundae
Burger King in the USA have unveiled their Bacon Sundae - looks like it is vanilla ice-cream, caramel, Bacon bits and a piece of Bacon.
I think this is going to be a treat for obese America. They love this shit.

Bacon Olive Oil
Thanks Matt. As Queen Creek Olive Mill say in their ad - any time you're cooking something up and want it to taste like Bacon - grab your bottle of Bacon Olive Oil and cook away!
Or if you want to use it for dipping...Bacon Olive Oil...must taste better than real Olive Oil - it has Bacon* in it!
From the website
"There is a breed of swine called "Cinta Senese" that are raised in the Chianti region of Tuscany. Their meat is treasured throughout Italy and is used in the making of pancetta (Italian bacon)... Nice story but there were no swine harmed in the making of our bacon flavored extra vrigin olive oil. By popular demand we have crafted the ultimate condiment to compliment your favorite dish. Fry your eggs, drizzle over vine ripened tomatoes, saute breakfast potatoes, and intensify a BLT or use anywhere for instant bacon gratification."

Bacon Trout
Thanks to J&D for posting this picture of trout wrapped in Bacon - not sure how I feel about this.
I'm sure the Bacon part is fantastic, but the trout part...my head tells me the two flavours won't mix well...I really don't see fish and Bacon being the right combination...but there is only one way to find that out!

Slagerij De Leeuw
Sambo is chasing tail across the world and his latest stop was the Amsterdam. We won't talk about what he's really been up to, but we will talk about what he's sent me.
He stopped in on this place called "Slagerij De Leeuw" - ok so I don't know what that means either - something about the Slaughter House of the Lion.
Well they have a website and everything - owned by Yolanda and Fred Leeuw. It's all in Dutch, but from the pictures it looks like a top butcher. From their website it says they have over 45 years of experience in Europe with exclusive products from all around the world. They are third generation butchers and are now house hold names in Holland.
This is what butchers should be!
And this is what Sam did there - he sampled some meat.
Read through to the article for pictures and more information about Sam's sampling.

A Bacon gun
So Tweeds sent this to me...not sure what it's about. A Bacon gun was the title of the image.
Well it is a lot of Bacon, eggs, toast, coffee and a gun.
Is this a Russian breakfast?
Not entirely sure what to make of it!
